Month of May

What a great month I have had. I have had a bit of practice at pool recently and am becoming quite the pool player. I have really been enjoying playing and getting better at aiming my shots and learning new skills along the way.

I have also been going to the Greerton Hall on Thursdays for games, where the Willrose Centre meets us there. We listen to music, spend time together, and play lots of different games. My favourite game is tenpin bowling because it is always so much fun, and everyone gets really involved. There are always lots of laughs, and it is a great way to socialise and enjoy time with friends.

We had a very special visitor to the centre when Devon Briggs came in and talked all about his sporting journey in paracycling. We asked him so many questions, and it was so inspiring to hear about everything he has achieved and the challenges he has overcome. It was really interesting listening to his experiences, and I enjoyed learning more about paracycling and his journey as an athlete.

In woodwork, we have started a new project of making a wooden sign by cutting individual letters out of rimu and pine. It has been really enjoyable learning how to shape and work with the wood carefully, and I am looking forward to seeing the finished project once it all comes together.

In my arts and crafts sessions, we have been working on making masks for the ball that is coming up. We are making big masks to decorate the walls and smaller ones for us to wear on the day . It has been lots of fun being creative and designing different patterns and decorations for the masks.

I have also been enjoying going to Connect 20 and meeting some new friends. It has been nice getting to know new people, joining in with activities, and building new friendships. Overall, it has been a busy and exciting month filled with lots of fun experiences and activities.
